The iron gates leading into the churchyard were presented by R Hart Davies Esq, the former MP for Bristol. They are of interest as having formerly belonged to the old Exchange of Tolzey at Bristol. The Tolzey, the place where merchants assembled for business, was altered, or any rate the pavement about it was altered in 1771 and probably this was the time when the gates were removed and found their way to Hinton Blewett.
