2409_[1] PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

There was no public participation contributed by members of the public.

MEETING ADMIN

2409_[2] Apologies for Absence

Apologies for absence were received from D Cox and J O’Nians

RESOLVED: To approve the absence of Cllr J O’Nians until the next parish council meeting

2409_[3] Declaration of Interest

There were no declarations of disclosable pecuniary or personal interests.

2409_[4] Confirmation of Minutes

RESOLVED: The Parish Council meeting minutes of Thursday 18th July 2024 were confirmed as an accurate record and signed by Chairman.

REPORTS – To note and receive any reports:

2409_[5] Chairman’s Report

  • A report was received from the Chairman
    • Cllr Duckett met with the BANE highway inspector on site to review ongoing issues
    • Cllr Duckett reported an online meeting would take place with Dst Cllr D Wood on 17th Sept to discuss ongoing highways issues
    • Cllr Duckett met a gas engineer while he was on site which resulted in replacement of the traffic bollard next to the gas installation
    • At the request of Cllr Ducket, the driver of the BANES road sweeper had removed weeds around the Barbury while visiting Hinton Blewett
    • Prospect Style requires maintenance on the gate and sign post
    • Cllr Duckett attended the Police Advisory Group and reported on crime statistics
    • Cllr Duckett reported on feedback from the Solar Farm group regarding ideas for potential community benefits
    • Cllr Duckett attended the community resilience meeting and agreed to start to complete the template for the local emergency plan
    • Cllr Duckett reported on a visit to the Keynsham recycling centre

2409_[6] Clerk’s Report

  • A report was received from the Clerk
  • The council requested the Clerk to ask for further details and costs regarding renewal of lease for continued rent of playing field off Hook Lane at same concessionary rate. (Lease expired 14/4/22)
  • Emergency planning template from BANES shared with councillors
  • Noted: correspondence shared with council members listed in the appendix.
    • Noted: Play Inspection Report – Cllr Duckett would check the fallen tree and report of action required.

2409_[7] Meetings attended and Members Reports

  • Noted: there were no reports on councillor responsibilities and meetings attended
  • Reviewed: Cllr Elliott reported on a request regarding access on the Barbury. The council gratefully accepted an offer from Mr Sage to dig through an access route for the jubillee bench from the car park at no cost for the digging.

2409_[8] Highways Report

  • A letter had been sent from the Parish Council to Dst Cllr David Wood requesting ongoing highways issues to be addressed.

2409_[9] Ward Councillor’s Report

  • A written report was received from BANES District Cllr David Wood.
  • The council reviewed meeting dates and resolved that two meetings each year could be held on the fourth Thursday of the month to allow Dst Cllr D Wood to attend, provisionally in March and September. All other two monthly meetings would be on the third Thursday of the month to allow the majority of members of the council to attend.
  • Cllrs Duckett and Elliot would research land owners on the bank of Coley Hill with regard to stabilising the ground.

2409_[11] PLANNING APPLICATIONS

There were no outstanding consultation requests at the time of agenda publication

2409_[12] DATE OF NEXT MEETING

  • RESOLVED : Date of next meeting: Thursday 21st November 2024, 7.30pm at Hinton Blewett village hall.

There being no further business, the Chairman closed the meeting at 21:16
