The Annual Electors Annual Parish Meeting for Hinton Blewett was held at 7.00pm on Thursday 18th May 2023 at Hinton Blewett Village Hall:
Councillors Present: C Elliott, D Cox, D Duckett (Chairman), D Huffadine, J O’Nians and P Young
Also Present: Philip Edwards (Clerk) and three members of the public
1. WELCOME BY CHAIRMAN
A welcome was received from Cllr Duckett, Chairman of Hinton Blewett Parish Council
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FOR THE 2022 APM
The minutes for the Annual Parish Meeting held on 12th May 2022 were approved as an accurate record.
3. CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
A report was received from Cllr Duckett, Chairman of Hinton Parish Council
- It was reported that the future Coley Hill works diversion route would be checked with B&NES
- Plans to resurface the road into the village were reported
- It was reported that deep pot holes that had been reported were still present around the village
- It was reported that flooding remains a problem
- It was reported that the big lunch event in the playing field had been a success and it was noted that with the right promotion that events could be well attended in the village. It was noted that the playing field as a community facility had been brought to the attention of residents due to this event and this opened up the suggestion that further events could be planned.
- It was reported that the Jubilee bench had been erected on the Barbury
- It was reported that Prospect Stile had been repaired by the Bath Ramblers
- It was reported that the Parish Council would continue to send out a community newsletter.
- It was reported that the Parish Council were represented on the Police Advisory Group
- The airport infrastructure survey was discussed
4. PARISH GRANTS AWARDED IN 2022/23
It was reported that the following grants were awarded in the 2022/23 Year:
- PCC Hinton Blewett: £250
- Hinton Blewett Village Hall: £350
5. REPORT FROM DISTRICT COUNCILLOR
There was no report from District Councillor David Wood, who sent his apologies for absence.
6. OPEN FORUM
An open forum was held to invite discussion of any parish affairs as determined by those present at the meeting.
7. CONCLUDING REMARKS
Concluding remarks were received from the Chairman, who closed the meeting at 19.27
