3. CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

Report from Cllr Duckett, Chairman of Hinton Parish Council
The Chairman reported on communications with B&NES regarding Coley Hill, including the condition of the drains, mudslides and trees falling down. It was noted that B&NES discussed clearing the drains, inspecting drains with a camera and returning with a plan of action and having an expert check the trees.
The Chairman reported on the communications with the local MP Jacob Rees-Mogg regarding the disconnection of the copper telephone network.
The costs of the playing field were discussed and formed part of the open forum discussion. It was noted that this may improve biodiversity, but may not necessarily effect the cost of maintenance.

6. OPEN FORUM

A discussion of parish affairs as determined by those present at the meeting was held. Topics included the newsletter, playing field, margins for wildlife, the Jubilee breakfast and benches on the Barbury, weeds on the Barbury and bus shelters. An impromptu poll was held between some members of the public – three residents raised their hand in support of a bench around the oak tree on the Barbury, however due to the impromptu nature of the poll, not all members of the public were aware of or participated in the poll. The poll and feedback was noted by the parish council.

A member of the public thanked the Chairman and the Parish Council for their work and concluding remarks were received from the Chairman.
