Update on the Somer Valley Links which includes the A37 into Bristol

An ‘Engagement Report” has collated information following the public engagement exercises. The ongoing project will be taken forward by BANES and revised proposals will be taken to a further public consultation later in 2024.

Flooding

Considerable flooding discussion with input from Avon Fire and Rescue. It was agreed that the Forum would establish a time limited working group Date Thursday 4th April 11.30 – 1pm Teams) to look at how and what communication can help ease ways around the valley when roads are flooded. Adopt a drain scheme, reporting on ‘fix my street’ etc

Leading work on a fish recovery for River Chew, a wetland in Pensford and working with a farmer in Chelwood to reduce run off from fields and encouraging wildlife putting in buffer zones of hedgerows and ponds.
